ELIM EARLY CHILDHOOD
DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
School motto
Train up a child in the way he should go....
Proverbs 22:6
The admonition of this verse is that early training of the child helps to set his path as an adult. For this reason, Elim holds firm that we should train our children in the truths of the Christian faith and pray that the Lord works in their lives so that they will be dedicated to Christ.

ELIM ECDC Profile
“The Elim Early Childhood Development Centre had its genesis in the mid-seventies as a Basic school in a little dirt church on the Port Henderson Road in Naggo Head. Later the church and basic school moved to their present location on Newland Road and the Basic School continued for some time and then discontinued its services for a while; but the vision never died. The deep desire to lay a solid foundation for children in the surrounding communities still lingered,” recounts Rev. Watson in her Founders Message for the school’s graduation magazine published June 2016.
The Elim Day Care would reopen its doors on January 3, 1995 with three (3) babies in its charge, under the watchful eyes and tender caring hands of Mrs. Beverley Thompson and Mrs. Deletia Nembhard. Mrs. Nembhard is still with the Centre.

On September 11, 1995 the preschool came into being with four students. Over the years the numbers have grown and the Day Care and preschool have now upgraded to the Elim Early Childhood Development Centre serving “Little people between the ages of 3months through 6 years.”

The Centre now led under the administrative leadership of Mrs. Venise Williams Burrell and her team of Early Childhood Care trained practitioners has been transforming the institution in partnering and inspiring parents with the mandate of the school in providing the foundations necessary for our children so that they can lead wholesome lives and contribute to their families, community, nation and the global village.
